Contract works insurance - also known as construction all risks - covers physical loss or damage to a construction project while it's underway. If a storm hits a partially built structure, a fire breaks out on site, or materials are stolen before installation, contract works cover responds. For builders, developers, and contractors, an uninsured loss mid-project can be catastrophic - financially and reputationally. It can also be a contractual requirement on most commercial projects.
Cover for physical loss or damage to the construction works themselves while the project is underway.
Protection for plant and equipment located on the construction site during the project.
Cover for construction materials in transit to the site or in storage awaiting installation.
Protection for temporary structures, site offices, and temporary works erected during construction.
Cover for the costs of clearing and removing debris following an insured loss on site.
Some packaged policies include public liability cover for the duration of the construction project.
